SAA cheapest since 2007 |
08 Apr 2011 flights |
Mango Airlines are cheapest overall, but SAA are offering the lowest price on Johannesburg to Durban flights since our 18 August 2007 JNB-DUR survey (well done to the government carriers on outperforming the private sector). This comparison was of one-way flights, coach trips and train trips from Johannesburg to Durban, leaving Durbs between 17h29 and 20h36 on Friday the 8th of April 2011. Prices will change (perhaps even by the time you read this).

DC Rainmaker caught a Swiss Airlines flight to South Africa. In Johannesburg he made his way across the airfield to board a turboprop plane that would take him to a grass landing strip near Botswana, headed towards & Beyond’s Madikwe Lodge. At Madikwe he went on game drives seeing rhino, elephants, lions, impala, buffalos, wildebeests, kudu, zebras and giraffes (his favourite). "We were pretty lucky to be able to sit in one morning when they were ‘packaging up’ the two male lions and getting them ready for transit. Because &Beyond is considered a leader in wildlife conservation, the group actually worked in conjunction with the park officials this morning – so we got to tag along. It was pretty cool."
